24-Carrot Friends

And boy am I luck to a have a couple of them!  Made these almost-identical cards for Heidi and Gail.  Gail received this one - it's more subtle....as I used Spicas to sparkle up the carrots...

And here's a close-up of the subtle sparkle....

On the other hand, the one for Heidi is QUITE flashy as I used Stickles for the sparkly-goodness.

I didn't take a close-up of these carrots because I was afraid they might be BLINDING!!  But as you can tell - even from a distance - they're pretty sparkly.

I've been wanting to make this card for ever so long (since I purchased the sentiment [A Muse] about 6 years ago!!) but I didn't want to have to stamp and color TWENTY-FOUR carrots...besides 24 of them would never fit on a card front!!  But low and behold, along came Cats Pajamas with this cute & simple (and really easy to color and glitter) carrot and FINALLY the card came true.

The cute carrot ribbon was one that I found at Michael's about 3 years ago.  I could kick myself for not getting a couple of spools of it....I've never seen it again!  The cool little sign-post is a QuicKutz die and the textured CS is from CTMH (wish they'd bring it back - love that stuff!!).  The little tuft of grass is from CTMH (an oldie and one that I use a LOT).  Memento and Colorbox Inks, Copics, Marvy corner rounder and some foam tape completed the cards.

Hope  my two 24-carrot friends enjoyed their cards - like I said, I'm lucky to have them!!

Chicks Rule!

Hee, hee, hee......Paper Smooches stamps make me giggle and smile and leave me pretty darn happy.  The only thing this chick needed was a real feather and rhinestones.  I used some bright pink CS (Stampin' Up) for a frame and that egg B&T is more pastel in color but geeeez, it's so busy it looks pretty bright - right?

A little bit of Copics to give her some color and some Stickles to brighten up the frame (Nestibilities) and the cute little "chicks rule" sentiment (Taylored Expressions) is stamped on a mini-tag (M.S. punch) and attached to the frame with a rhinestone brad (Recollections-Michaels).  The hot pink organza ribbon is from a florist supply store (waaaaay cheap).

4 more cards to go!

Hippity, Hop

So while I steer clear of Pinterest, I do check Google Images on occasion (and yes, I know there are Pinterest images too but it seems more manageable).  I don't know why I'm explaining this as this card came from an idea that I saw on the MFT blog.  But that card was just a jump start for what I eventually did - I know it's a shocker, but my card may be a teensy bit busier that the inspiration card too.  Oh well....sometimes I can't live by the "less is more" theory.

Cloud CS from A Muse and trimmed with mega scalloped edgers.

The cool wrought iron gate is M.S.'s Halloween gate - I just snipped the vampire bats off.  The grass is CTMH B&T paper and a M.S. grass border punch.  The mini eggs are from QuicKutz (CS from CTMH).  The sentiment is from CTMH (from a wood-mounted set obtained ages and ages and ages  ago), the cute little bunny butt is from American Art Stamps from a couple of DECADES ago (I tell you, I've been into this stamping thing for quite a long while...).  CB is Memory Box, Memento Inks, Copics and Stickles round out the supplies.   Everything but the bunny butt is glued onto the CB directly - I popped out the bunny butt with foam tape because I feel a card is incomplete without the application of a bit of foam tape!

Are you still with us?  Only 5 more cards to go!

The Little Juggler

Yep, another card using Elzybells stamps (distributed by A Muse).  They're actually really small stamps so I need to have a lot of other components to create a card.  Layer is a card-maker's best friend, right?  so that's one of my favorite methods.  It also lends itself to using some of the tons of B&T paper I have in my stash.  This spring-time paper is from Doodlebug.....so cute it's almost sickening - and I am powerless NOT to add a few sheets of it to my basket EVERY time I'm at my LSS!!

The spiral clip is from CTMH - and I've had these for many, many years.....I sort of forget about them  until I'm digging around for something else.  The ribbon is from Michaels (I think last year??), a couple of Marvy scalloped punches help in building the layers.

I used Memento inks, Copics and Spicas on duck and eggs.

Thanks for sticking with us - only 6 more Spring/Easter cards to go!

Very Spring-y

Isn't this such a cute stamp?  And it's from Michael's Dollar bin (last year, when it was still only $1.00).  The flower ribbon has been in my stash for probably 5 years or more - not sure, but it might be from May Art?  The CB is from PTI - nice and heavy and takes the embossing really well, the embossing folder is from Darcie's.  I used a Marvy circle that fit the stamp image....and the most time-consuming part of the card was gluing the flower ribbon onto the stamped circle......it was a bit tricksy but I like how it turned out.

Here's a close-up of the stamped image - isn't that bunny so cute?  I did a smidgeon of some cool grey to give him a bit of color and then Stickled his tail but that's pretty much it.

It looks like a nice simple card (which it is...) but then the next photo will show the handy-dandy mechanics really takes it up a notch...

See?  it's a spring, so the stamped image literally SPRINGS at you!!  Cool, huh?  Well, I thought so - I love cards that are interactive or at least have some movement/motion.  The spring is CTMH, ink is from Memento, Copics and Stickles wrap up the card.

3 down, 7 to go - come on back tomorrow for yet another Spring/Easter card!

Somebunny Loves You

Found this idea on Google Images.  I think the bunnies on the card I saw were stamped in different colors.  I used a QuicKutz die cut and mini-gingham CS from A Muse, oh and I added mini pom-poms for the bunny tails.

The sentiment is by A Muse - I love it!!  The scalloped heart punch is from Marvy and I've adhered it to the card with some foam tape.  Used a corner punch on a couple of the corners to soften the edges of the card.  I've had the purple mini-gingham ribbon for years so I have no clue who the manufacturer is - sorry - but it goes PERFECTLY with the mini-gingham CS, yes???

Even though it looks busy, I like the clean design of this card.

2 down, 8 to go...we'll see you again tomorrow!

Ducky Egg

This year I designed 10 cards....unfortunately once again I didn't plan my blog posts accordingly so I'll be posting Easter/Spring cards a little beyond Sunday.  But they're very Spring-y and everyone can be cheered by that, right?

First up, this card using a cute little stamp by Elzybells - glad I grabbed them a few years ago when A Muse was distributing them!!  I believe 3 of my cards use an Elzybell stamp - which is no surprise considering most of them are Spring/Easter themed.  The tall grass stamp is by Savvy and hmmm the other one might be by Memory Box?  The sentiment is from Printworks and oh by is IT old....but how I STILL love those arched sentiments!  Sheer dotted ribbon by A Muse.

Dotted B&T from CTMH and of course I used Memento Inks, Copics, Stickles and  a wee bit of Liquid Glass (CTMH) was applied to the ladybug.  Oval punches by Marvy and the cardbase is from Memory Box.

I stamped the flower again, colored & cut it out and then popped it with some foam tape.

One down, 10 to go!!  Bob and I will be back tomorrow!

Cauldron Bubble...

So this is the REAL card (compared to the "mini spaaaaaa" card)......the one that took me HOURS to complete.  Don't get me wrong - it was totally fun to create but it did eat up the time.  I used a new embossing folder and I think it fit the theme perfectly.  I've kind of scared myself with the number of embossing folders that are presently in my "collection"....however, I do believe that I have one that will fit very nearly ANY type of card that I would want to make............ever.........Ahem.....

Here's a close-up on some of the oh-so intricate coloring (again, loads of fun but hugely time-consuming).  I threw on some Spicas for added embellishment, a bit of sparkle but not over-the-top.

Sequins scream BUBBLES, right??

Shooting Star

Tim for some love for the new CTMH B&T paper - this time it's "Lollydoodle".  It's double-sided and I actually like both sides of this sheet....small pink chevrons and then the leafy-looking design on the flip side.  Of course I gravitate towards a Wicked color-scheme but that's ok - I'm good with it!! B-day stamp set is on of last catty's "hostess only" sets...which I hope becomes available for purchase soon as I've had a few people ask on it.  The shooting star is one of the individual "minis".

There's actually not a lot of coloring going on but I did do a bit of fussy-cutting for the star tentrils (and the foam tape!!).  I added some Stickles and a few mini star gems for whole "star" scene.  There's a bit of paper over-laying going on that is that!

Beachy Comfort

Sympathy cards...such a sad need for them but hopefully they bring some comfort to those in mourning.  I actually like making sympathy cards - why?  Well, they're calming, peaceful and make me pause - to reflect about the fragility and swiftness of life...while we're in the moment we don't always think of it along those terms (nor should we!) but when you take a couple of steps back....well, pause for thought.  You know?

As I said, these cards are always calming...and really when I move beyond the subject matter - I get into a Zen sort of thing with the colors and feel of the design.  Generally the stamps that I use are nature-themed and maybe because my cards are a bit understated design-wise, these types of cards fit into my design style very easily.

A bit of glitter and a few beads from an assortment of blue beads adds just enough to this card but doesn't send it overboard.

Stamps - Judikins shell block; sentiment - Inky Antics
Inks - Memento
CB - Memory Box
CS - CTMH

A Good Day

No Sugar & Spice here...but I like it!!!  I've had this stamp (from Inkadinkado) for years.  I think they created a whole like of them a few years ago.  And that whole thing - about kids saying the darnedest things??  So true, very, very true!

I don't really know what the  mini-rubber band craze was (is) all about - Creepella is too old for this current craze - but I do like them and when they were 40% off at Joann's I picked up a couple of bags and figured I'd fiddle around with them and they'd make it to a card.....somehow!

And here they are - the colors are perfect with the B&T paper (CTMH) and the hardware (CTMH) is very fitting with the "theme" of this card.

The HARDEST part in making this card?  It was crumpling up the CS panel after stamping it.  Oh, it nearly killed me......yikes!!  But after crumpling and then flattening it out, I swiped some chalk ink (VersaMagic) around to "grunge" it up......oh, and before crumpling I distressed the edges of the stamped panel too.

And I thought this sentiment (CTMH) would be oh-so fitting inside the card.......sigh....  Hope you all have a GOOD day!!
