Washi Thanks

Attention, attention:  some cool new stamps from CTMH are making the scene.  This  is a whole set of washi tape stamps....which sounds kind of weird I admit, but it's actually pretty neat.  You get the look of a nice variety of washi tape but you can get it in ANY color you need.  Loads of designs (only 3 are shown here), so I think you could find something for anything you're looking for......and this is coming from someone who has about 9 rolls of washi tape in a drawer.....................and has only used any of it ONCE!!  I think it's that whole "if I use it I won't have it" mentality of mine.

But anyway - the card design is from the Frosted Workshop On The Go - but of course I've changed it from a Christmas card to a Thank You card.  Love the colors in the Frosted package.  Very wintery but not so obviously wintery that they make EVERY card look "holiday-ish".  I think the colors are great for manly-male cards...for which I'm always on the hunt!

EVERYTHING from CTMH.....

Class Work

Well if you need a corsage or boutonniere I think I could help you with that.  This is what we worked on in class about a week ago.  It was pretty fun.....although I would MUCH rather have a choice in the flower selection (we have no choice.....but since we have no extra material costs, beggars can't be choosers - right?).  And of course the whole point of these exercises is to learn the mechanics of floral design.

Creepella and I will be attending an upcoming floral show - I'm looking forward to it, I think it will be a lot of fun.

While looking at the accessory items that are used in various floral designs, my true love always wins out.................I convert a LOT of the items into card-making ideas.

Got a lot going on in my crafty world right now and I'm on a definite schedule for several items.  Once time loosens up a bit I'll be experimenting with some of floral accessory items that I've been gathering...................REALLY looking forward to the fun!

Here Fishy-Fishy

Oh the B&T paper is SOOOO old......I mean probably a decade old at least.  But it still looks great and works well on this fishing card (it's a retirement card).  I had all of the QuicKutz trout die cut, colored and glittered ages ago.....just waiting for the opportunity to jump into action!  The fishing pole and hook are QuicKutz also.

The cardbase is Kraft and the wood panel CS is from A Muse, sentiment is an old one from CTMH.  I used Memento ink for the sentiment and the Tombow markers to color the trout, Stickles for the scales and just a bit embroidery thread for the "line".

Here's hoping someone who enjoys fishing will be retiring soon!

A Happy Accident

I'm idly curious how many of us start out with one card idea and how often the final design is loads different from our original thought?  Well, that's what happened with this card.  I had all kinds of pieces strewn across my desk but finally pared things down to the pineapple drink and stack of suitcases.  I didn't want to let go of all of the other bits completely so I stamped some of them in the background in light-colored inks (still wanting to give the whole vacation feel, you know?).

Stamped the postage stamp background row by row (stamps from CTMH) and in a VERY light ink (Memento's Desert Sand).  About halfway into playing with all of the pieces (originally I also had another drink, a camera and sun glasses) it came to me - make it a "photo" scene....and since I knew EXACTLY where my photo corners were.................well, there you go!

All stamps in the "photo" from Paper Smooches (and oh so FUN to color with my Copics!!).  While I stamped, colored and then cut out the pineapple drink and the suitcases you could do some stamping and masking action to avoid the cutting (but as I've stated, I kind of like getting into the Fussy Cutting Zen-thing).  Background stamps and sentiment from CTMH.

Kinda makes me want to go on vacation...............

Bloom Baby Bloom

Usually I don't see this lily in all of its glory - but last weekend I was out nosing around in the garden and what did my wondering eyes see but this gorgeous purple and yellow beauty.   I hope I remember to take a peek in the garden beds, barrels and containers this weekend......who knows what treasures I'll find??

Nature is pretty ding-dang COOL.....................

Adoring B-Day

I've used this B&T paper time and again....I just like it (and I might have slightly less than a ton of it...) and here it is............again.

Stamps and "More To Adore" from CTMH (alas the B&T is no longer available - good thing I have a ton of it); inks from CTMH, Memento and Colorbox; Copics; cardbase from Memory Box, Marvy oval scallop punch, rhinestone brad from......maybe Making Memories?

A Study In Pink.....................I like it!

B-Day Balloons

Using Liquid Glass/Diamond Glaze really gives a great effect........except for the little air bubbles.  But I spent enough time trying to pop them with a straight pin and figured the remaining air bubbles could be considered "texture"....................are you buying it???

Stamp is from Taylored Expressions, I stamped the balloons a second time, colored, cut and mounted them with foam tape then applied the Liquid Glass AND then walked away from them for the evening (see, I've learned some lessons and patience during my years as a card-maker!).

The mini rick-rack (or is that ric-rac???) was purchased from Hancock Fabrics and I just used some tacky glue to attach it to the card front ONLY.....it's too bulky to wrap around the entire card.   Once the glue dried, I trimmed the ric/rick-rac/rack right up to the card base and it didn't fray at all (yeah for tacky glue!).

The B&T paper was something I had but since I wasn't operating with a full sheet (HA-very funny...), I don't know who the manufacturer is.....but I'm thinking it's fairly new so I'm certain I purchased it at Michaels, Joann's or Stamper's Corner sometime this year.  Memento inks, Copics, Spicas and just a rectangle of red CS (CTMH) completes the card components.

A fun & happy card that would be suitable for either a boy or girl..................mission accomplished!

Party Chick

It's pretty amazing how a few snippets of ribbon can add so much to a card.  I think the sheer ribbon (both the /Swiss dot and plain) from A Muse is my most favorite ribbon - EVER ............sadly I can't get more into my clutches so I always wince when I actually USE some of it!!

As you can see from the first photo, the cardbase is actually a pretty yellow (Lemon Twist from PTI), but darn if this photo washed out the color.  Maybe one of these semesters I'll take a photo class - obviously I need one!

This card is composed of quite a bit of products:  stamps from Paper Smooches and CTMH;  Memento, CTMH and Colorbox inks; orange polka-dot CS from A Muse; embossing folder from Cuddlebug (I think....); Copics and Spicas and Stickles (Oh My!!); corner punch from EK Success; B&T paper for party hat is from Basic Grey (have NO idea what collection); mini pom-pom from Michaels.

I had a FUN time making these cards.......there's a lot going on but I think the little b-day chick has it all together.

Here's hoping the rest of your week is a party too!

A Little Big Wish

Another 3 x 3 card.......colorful and fun and EASY.....I think the hardest part - applying the Spica to the "Big" and typing the ribbon!!

Stamps - Paper Smooches; Inks - Memento; Ribbon - A Muse; Punches - Marvy; B&T - I don't remember....sorry!

Busy Hugs

The card design is one from CTMH Card-Making Workshops On The Go....I used different B&T papers but used the same stamps as the Workshop suggested.  It's pretty busy (for my taste) but I think it came together pretty well.

Aside from a couple of Copics, Stickles ("candy cane") and the Baker's Twine (A Muse), oh and the border punch (Martha Stewart), all supplies are from CTMH

B-Day Candles

Hmmmm, I can't remember when I saw this card idea (most likely from a magazine), and I'm pretty sure different stamps were used, but I really liked the idea so I made a note and filed it away.......until now.  The cake is from Hero Arts, "Happy B-day" & the candle flame is from CTMH.  I'm not really wild about the border punch (Martha Stewart) - I'm hoping it'll grow on me.......even though I got it for a great deal, if I don't use I've still paid too much - right?

Memento Inks, Copics, Stickles, CB - Memory Box

Another Orange Thanks

It started out as Clean & Simple and then......turned into slightly gaudy & sparkly.

I love this embossing folder.....actually I really like all of the "word" embossing folders - it's still a little magical to me when I crank them through the Cuddlebug.......sigh.......

Embossing folder - Cuddlebug; loopy border die - Taylored Expressions; "WOW" alpha - QuicKutz; Thank You stamp - PTI; Memento Ink; Stickles.

Only One You

Seems as if it's been ages since I whipped out a border punch....so for this card, I whipped out TWO of them (both Martha Stewart).

Fast & easy card - a panel of cloud CS (A Muse), the bird border punch and a sentiment (Hero Arts).  I just had to snip off one of the blue birds and add Mr. Penguin to the avian line-up and it's a done deal!
