Mr. Brrrrrrrrr

Technically - this is a WINTER card.......snowman, snow, snowflakes......totally a WINTER card!

I'm at a loss to explain the red Baker's Twine.....so mums the word on THAT......

Snowman stamp - Michael's $1.00-bin; gemstone, sentiment & Baker's Twine - A Muse; swirl background stamp - CTMH; Marvy punch; corner rounder; embossing folder - Cuddlebug; Memento inks, Copics & Stickles.

Frosted Wishes

I know someone is rolling her eyes and wondering if I know how to use a calendar....well I do - sort of......I simply wasn't as mindful as I should have been with my postings this month.  I had too many Christmas cards and ran out of days BEFORE Christmas to squeeze them all in.....so yet another holiday card.

But look - there's no red or green to be found......because I stuck to CTMH's "Frosted" paper pack....I just love these colors.  I know, not very traditional but that's perfectly ok to me.  The card design is one from CTMH also (just can't remember where I saw it) - all items are from CTMH

FYI:  I snipped a portion of a rhinestone flourish to accent these cards......it's just enough sparkle in my opinion!!

Hope YOUR holidays have been happy!!

Merry Christmas!

Firstly my apologies for the slightly wonky photo......it really doesn't look crooked in my view-finder.

A supper fast and easy (i.e. NO coloring) card - everything (including the card design) is from CTMH.

Bob and I are wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!!

Bright Lights

Oooooh, poor Fluffles, I love that he's so enthused......he's just not that adept - at ANYTHING!!  I know, I know - boooooorrrrrrring........made this card last year (and if you'll notice in the last 3 posts I was REALLY into those embossing folders!!) - and this is the only one left so I guess there are a few people who like Fluffles too.

B&T paper and Liquid Glass from CTMH, Fluffles is from Stampendous (I think), Marvy punches, ribbon from A Muse, embossing folder from Cuddlebug, Memento and Colorbox inks, Copics.

Well girls and boys, only one more sleep until Christmas - hope everyone has been good!!

Shiney Nose

Or would that be a SPARKLY nose?  Here's a card I made last year - saw the B&T paper and the card design just popped into my head.....AND was executed successfully.  I love it when that happens!

The little reindeer is from Hero Arts (got him about 3 years ago???), the paper is something I picked up from Joann's (maybe in the last couple of years), the small oval under the reindeer is from A Muse, Memento & Colorbox Chalk inks, Copics, CB from PTI and gemstone from Hero Arts OR A Muse....oh, and the embossing folder "frame" is from Cuddlebug - I have plans to use it with some of my sewing/stitching themed stamps - what fun!

A Good Standard

Politically correct sentiment, no wild or crazy design and even a bit of glitter - your basic go-to type of card.  The embossed CB perks up this otherwise semi-boring design...don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like it - it's just that it's kinda blah......but you know what?  At least a couple of people liked the design well enough to purchase the cards so I'll just keep smiling!!

Speaking of smiling, the Craft Fair was a success........we had some significant pre-sales and not too shabby post-sales so all in all Heidi and I are bolstered enough to begin the work for the Spring Craft Fair (historically there are fewer crafters and obviously lower sales due to less customers).

Honestly, it was really great seeing so many people that we haven't seen in such a long time.  We heard several comments from people who have actually MISSED our cards (and us) - that's so gratifying after all of our hard work!!  We know we'll never get rich but if our sales are decent and we can squirrel away some cashola, then we can start planning on a little holiday.  We're so excited!!

So back to the card........Cuttlebug embossing folder, sentiments from Hero Arts and PTI, wreath stamp and B&T paper from CTMH, Memento inks, Stickles (double-application for solid-coverage and intensity of color), Marvy scalloped punch and Nestabilities.

It's  nearly 6:00 and I still need to bag up some of the gifties I'm toting in for my work colleagues - I'll be posting some of those items early next year so come on back in January!!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Another card from 2012.....and this card design is from a Paper Crafts magazine (I have NO idea which issue!!).  The thing that caught my eye - the half circle sentiment.  Isn't it weird what will pop out at you?

Anyhow, all of the little stamps are from A Muse or Memory Box.  The B&T and CS is from CTMH; Memento Inks; Copics; Spicas and Marvy scalloped circle punch (cut in half).  It's a very flat card so there's no problem with postage - seems like I can't say that too often!

Furry Fun

Aaaaah Fluffles, such a naughty and funny feline!  But I'd kiss him under the mistletoe 's any time!

Another card made last year.....hmmmm, the green B&T paper, Baker's Twine and sheer ribbon is from A Muse, the red B&T is from a variety pack at Michael's. I used another border punch from Martha (it might be a pine border??) and the other ribbon is from Michael's.

Charlie Brown Tree

On Kraft CS, a little Charlie Brown Christmas tree....the tree stamp is pretty small (from A Muse) and there was just a small amount of coloring to do but the pop of red B&T (???) makes it oh-so cheery.  This is one that I made last year so I don't recall all of the particulars but obviously it wouldn't be difficult to duplicate.

Retro Santa

Everything aside from the border punch (Martha's) and ribbon (???) is from CTMH, including the cool card design.  Love this paper pack......Creepella does NOT - but she says it looks very retro-y and that's just not her taste (but most definitely mine).

Pretty straight-forward design, layered paper EVERWHERE, a wee bit o' stamping and POOF, you're done!!

Shhhh....do you SMELL something?

Do you remember that line from "Ghostbusters"??  It's at the beginning, they're in the library and Dan Aykroyd says that line with so much sincerity and intensity that I bet a lot people didn't even get it the first time......I love the Ghostbusters - they're such goofs!!

on'
This is from Michael's $1.00 bin stamps.....and I love it.....so much fun to color and Stickle-fy.  The Cat's Pajamas have such fun sentiments and oh-so fitting for so many different occasions!!

So if the card design looks vaguely familiar you can thank Ms. Julie Ebersole (yet again), I don't remember if I saw this on her blog or on another blog or in a magazine or what - but happily I DID see it and even more happily I put it into action.

Embossing folder by Cuddlebug, border punch by Martha, mini-gingham B&T by A Muse, scrap bit o' ribbon, solid CS and Liquid Glass by CTMH, Memento Ink, Copics and comic relief by The Ghostbusters!

Horizontal Centerpiece

Some close-ups of the flowers, greenery and do-dads that were used in my final floral presentation last week....  The glittery curly stuff I found at Michaels (I think it was 50% off AND I had a coupon for an additional 25% off....can't beat that!!).

Since I was going for a traditional design I stuck with piney-greens and while flowers.   I love mums, pretty much any type of mum is my favorite.  I included carnations for mass - they're such a solid flower.  If I were to do design a piece like this again, I would use ONLY mums as they will last and last and last.  Right now some of the carnations are starting to go a bit brown on the very outer edges.

I didn't want anything red - just wanted a pretty wintery feel to it.  I had a couple of silver-painted pine cones and they turned out to be nice little accents (and they were "free" as I repurposed them from a display that we won in a raffle a couple of months ago!!).

And here's the display in all of its glory.....while it's not my taste, I'm pleased with it.....and it will be on our table INSIDE....hey, we might even dine by candlelight........

Tree of Sparkles

Whew, the craft fair is done and over, so is my final floral presentation and the holiday get-together was fun but tiring (man, am I old or what??  All that laughing wore me out) and I've worked nearly full days yesterday and today (no weekend break for me!)...and it's back to work I go tomorrow!!

And with all the hustle & bustle I'm counting my lucky stars that I never posted some of these cards last year!!  Looks like a pretty easy card to make right?  B&T paper, border & corner punches by Martha, the row of presents are a border sticker (again from Martha) and the tree is simply stamped on green CS and cut out......but those sequins and beads and that liquid pearl garland.....OH MY!!!

My favorite part?  The sentiment inside says "Hope your Christmas is TREE-mendous!"  - hee, hee, hee!!

SNOW Place Like Home

Actually I made this one last year but never threw it on the ol' blog - House is by Hear Arts, sentiment and cloud dies by A Muse....hmmmm, I don't remember where the B&T paper comes from???  Inks by Memento - Copics, Spicas and Stickles.

Beady Noel

ALL CTMH stuff - aside from the red twine and beads and Stardream text and in - so ok, maybe I should have said B&T (all retired) and stamps by CTMH.

Oh, and card DESIGN is from CTMH....so it IS more CTMH than not.

I always forget about my bead collection - of course they're a bit of a pain but I think they add a cute little sparkly addition.  Well, I better get back to the card-making......the craft fair is mere days away!

Elf Post

Speedy little guy isn't he?  While he isn't exactly Will Ferrell, I think the message comes across ok!!
Used some Stardream CS to frame him and the sheer ribbon from A Muse was just enough "twinkle-ness" to give the card the right amount of "umpfff".

This cool sentiment set is from Impression Obsession and it's so much fun (and so stinking HAPPY), lots of smiley, laughing sayings.

Stamps - CTMH (elf) & Impression Obsession; Inks - Memento; Copics & Spicas.

In The Round

Another class project.....but it was fun.  I like order - and this design keeps flowers very orderly.......did I mention that I like order?

This design makes a lovely and round centerpiece.  Unfortunately it's NOT what I have to make for my Final Project......I have to do a long and low Horizontal piece (they're HUGE).....I'll be sure and post that creation next month.....flowers are such fun!!

Fall Flowers

Certainly the red wall as a background isn't that great.....but oh well - gotta love my red wall!!

Here's something Creepella and whipped together - I had the orange tulips from earlier in the week and the mini pumpkins were left-overs from Halloween.  Between the two of us we had a couple of scarecrows and gourd picks...Creepella had some of the beaded garland and silk leaves in her (clearance) stash and yesssssss, I do happen to have a nice little collection of holiday fabrics.  Oh and the mandarins are from our tree (yum!).

Kinda of cool to be able to whip up something as quickly and easily as we did this - I guess we're just a couple of crafty-girls!

Thanksgiving

Sparkly leaves..................................

And yarn pumpkins......................

It must be Thanksgiving.........................!!  Stamps by CTMH, leaf border & glitter by Martha, Ribbon - Michaels? and twine from A Muse.  Yarn is inexpensive Red Heart (I used "carrot" and "bone") - and the instructions for the yarn pumpkins can be found here.  They'd make a cute garland but since I had extra I just sort of tossed them about AND I made mini-pumpkins.  Of course at Creepella's request I also made some white pumpkins.  Super simple - a good "watching T.V." sort of craft.

Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderfully filling.................

Home Sweet Home

Sparkly detail in the corner adds a bit o' fun to this oh-so neutrally card...

Here's another handy-dandy card from a CTMH Workshops On The Go.....and wow - I'm loving this beautiful "Huntington" paper pack too.  For this card I used most of the neutral designs, and man, it's so hard to CHOOSE which side to use.....it sets my Paper Hoarding into a panic mode.  But I DID use it!!  This card is a "Congrats on your new home"...

All items from CTMH....except the ribbon - that's from Michael's from years & years ago......

Halloweenie Peppers

Aren't they cute and festive-looking?  AND they've been planted in a cool orange pot too........  While I don't care for peppers, I do appreciate their color and FUN!

B F Witches

Paper-piecing is such fun when you have the right stamps and the right paper.  Pretty much any of the paper from Basic Grey is what I consider the "right" paper......and wow - this stamp from MFT was just screaming for some styling new "fabric"....don't you think?

Just added some coordinating stockings and boots (colored with Copics) and they were dressed for a night on the town!

A strip of more Basic Grey paper brought everything together.  I like it.....and I think some of my "witchy" friends will too!

Buggy for Baby

Ok, it's not like I need a baby card any time soon, but I couldn't stand it...I love this new paper from CTMH - "Babycakes".  And while it looks very baby-themed, it's really versatile in nature.  But more about that with another post.

I used a card design from the "Frosted" Workshop on the Go (Cardmaking Kit)...and I really like how the card turned out.  The stamp is one of the new individual stamps that CTMH has come out with (initially they introduced initials!!), with the latest catalog there's a whole page of these solo stamps (and such a deal at just $2.95).  Since I didn't really need another entire set of baby stamps this cool little carriage was perfect and I love the clean lines and small details in the design.

Stamped everything with Memento Inks and colored with Copics, everything aside from the polka-dotted sheer ribbon (A Muse) is from CTMH.  I'm using this card as one of my "miscellaneous" items for the craft fair - yipppeeee!!

Pumpkin Head

So Creepella has been browsing around and she found a hat, a little pumpkin beanie - made for an infant....and she comes up with this brilliant idea, "Mom, can you make this for me?  Then I can be a "ruddy big pumpkin head" for Halloween!!".  Ruddy big pumpkin head as in Harry Potter 4 - when Ron is sooooo peeved about Victor Krum.....we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that line in the movie.  And well, Creepella DOES have a rather large noggin.......

So here's the first-go.  It worked and now I just need to fiddle around with increasing the size to actually FIT her ruddy big pumpkin head!!  Start to finish (including re-working the curly vines about 3 times and the stem portion once), it took about 3 hours to complete.  It was fun, fun, fun and now the wheels are spinning for all sorts of fruit beanies!

To everyone - Happy Hooking!!

Along Came a Spider...

...who sat down beside her and.....

But why would any spider leave this gorgeous glittery web?  Added Stickles to the stamped web (can't recall WHICH web I used.....I.........ahhhh.....have quite a few web stamps to choose from.....).  Anyhow, I stamped the web and then used the handy-dandy MS web border & corner punches and added the star of the show (a QuicKutz die) and I was nearly done.  Actually, in hindsight, I realize I should have added two mini red gemstones for the spider's eyes.......that would have been a nice little detail!

All that was left was to add a strip of MS webby B&T paper, wrap it with that cool orange sheer ribbon (from A Muse) and attach the cute mini-tag (another MS punch) that was stamped with the "eeeek" sentiment (A Muse).  Black cardbase is from Memory Box.

Flower Power

Pardon the photos....neither is all that great but I nearly forgot to take ANY photos before this arrangement was carted off so I'm just happy to have these.

Half of the class had this assignment and half of the class did something else.  For those of us with this assignment we had to make identical arrangements as these were for a paying customers.  I was a bit tense (as were most of my classmates who were working along side me...), but they all came together fairly quick and easy.  And of course, it was excellent practice for our table arrangement skills.  Think I'll make a couple of arrangements for home.....in AUTUMN-Y colors of course....yum!

Braking for Frogs

She's got crazy eyes, don't you think???  But I like her, she looks fun...although I think I'd do the driving!

Stamps from Stampin' Up, Memento and Colorbox inks, Copics, cardbase from Memory Box, Mary punch, B&T from Basic Grey, MS spider web border punch.

Did some sponging around the edge of the cardbase and the moon - but other than that it was straight-on stamping & coloring.

Let's all bark at the moon, shall we???

Batty Greetings

October 1st..............our Halloween count-down begins!

This isn't a new card, one that I made a couple of years ago - but never posted.  It's simple enough, B&T paper and sheer ribbon from A Muse, sentiment from Hero Arts (I think!), mini-envelope punch by Marvy (can't recall which paper I used for the envelope) and some confetti bats......in shiny black.

I love this time of the year...Happy Autumn!
