A Dandy Lion

Cardbase - Memory Box; Stamps - A Muse, CTMH, Memory Box & Rubber Soul; Inks - Mementos, Versafine & Colorbox; Copics

I love puns and goofy little sayings.....so I really like a LOT of sentiments by A Muse....this card is pretty straight-forward....his mane was probably the most difficult thing to do - snip, snip, snip.....I stamped it twice, colored it and cut it out with micro-tipped scissors and then adherred it on top of the "flat" mane with foam mounting tape. It gives him some subtle depth and that's what every lion needs - right???

Mums the Word...

Cardbase - Memory Box; Ribbon & cardstock for butterfly punch - A Muse; B&T paper - ???; Butterfly Punch - Martha Stewart; Stickles

This is the most difficult card I've ever made....WHY you ask? Well, let me tell you........the only stamping done was the stamp I use on the back of my cards - that's it.....no stamping on the outside, nothing on the inside, completely UNfinished (IMO)....so WHY did I NOT complete this card? Because someone made a specific request for BLANK cards...Blank, I tell you - completely devoid of WORDS....yikes - it gives me the shivers just thinking of it - I may need therapy...

Plain & Simple

Cardbase - Memory Box; Stamp - Hero Arts; Ink - Mementos; Fiskars decorative scissors; "scrap" cardstock; B&T and Ribbon - I don't remember; Flower "bead" - CTMH.
In one of the last two or three Hero Arts catalogs, I saw a card that was so simple, it literally made me slap myself on the forehead with a resounding, "DUUUUH!!!". So off I skipped to the stamp room (well, I didn't really skip, the cats are always trying to trip me in their quest to get to the stamp room FIRST...), and found some B&T paper that wasn't too busy and wasn't too intensive in color and viola - it was done. Well, not really - I knew it needed something so I grabbed the Spicas and set them to work....LOVE my Spicas - they give just the right amount of shimmer and they dry fast as lightening.

New Calendar

CB-Memory Box; Stamps - A Muse; Inks - Mementos & Colorbox; Copics; Star Brads - Making Memories; B&T - Unknown

This is my version of a Retirement Card - kind of funny, since I'm always teasing my retired friends about how their calendars are full of "lunch meetings". I believe the calendar stamp and the party banner stamp are discontinued...but you might still be able to find them "around".

Mostly CASED...from Julie Ebersole

Cardbase - Memory Box; All stamps (EXCEPT sentiment & pink flower) - A Muse; sentiment stamp - Papertrey Ink; Pink Flower stamp - Savvy; Memento Inks; Copics, Spicas; Marvy punch.

This card is VERY nearly the card we did in one of Julie's classes held at The Paper Garden. The woman is massively talented (and talk about personality - whoa Nelly, can't wait until she comes back to town!!)....I don't think I've seen a card of her's that I didn't like - her cards speak to me....could she be The Card Whisperer???

Anyhow, I really liked the idea of the card so I did just a smidgeon of tweaking and Ta-Dah....here it is. I can see I'm totally loving, Loving, LOVING the kiwi-green color..........I'm even making some of my Halloween cards with it (what??? Too early for Halloween?? Oh you SILLY thing - it's NEVER too early [or late] for Halloweenie!!).

Are You Seeing Spots?

Cardbase - Memory Box; Stamps - CTMH; Inks - Memento & Colorbox; Brad - Making Memories; B&T - something Creepella gave me from her stash (source unknown).

This is my lame attempt at a not-so-girly card.....I definitely need to work on it......hmmm, should have lost the ribbon at least!! Oh well, I'll try, try again (and again and again and again....).

Happy B-Day Miles - BEEP, BEEP!!

Stamps, Ribbon, cardbase, cardstock - A Muse; Ink - Memento; Copics, Spicas.

This is a b-day card for my favorite 3-year, Mr. Miles!! I loved this card so much, I even made it for the A Muse Addicts monthly swap. These colors are so cheery and bright - it just makes me smile!!

Slinged Wing

Stamps - Memory Box penguin, "ouch" - unknown; B&T paper - unknown; Inks - Memento, CTMH, Colorbox; Copics, Stickles

A Get Well card for the latest Batch O' Cards that we're getting ready to sell. This penguin is from Dave's latest release - he's so cute (the penguin that is - although I'm sure Dave is cute too)!! I'm thinking the B&T paper is at least 9 years old......but it looked "cold" and kind of "icy" to me - so there you go!

I'm Baaaaaaaack!!

Is this a cool photo or what? It was taken in June at my brother & sister-in-law's home. He's creating this beautiful pond/stream/brook water feature in their backyard - it's not quite done, but you can tell how gorgeous it will be upon completion. She's the master gardener (I think she can make weeds beautiful.....sigh). The main focus of this particular photo is NOT the metal dragonfly, it's the MUCH smaller and OH-SO cool REAL reddish-orange dragonflies (one is way out on the tip of the top left wing and the other one is on the top right wing of the metal dragonfly). I don't see many red dragonflies, so I was pretty entralled with these guys...as soon as they caught my eye - I just knew I would be making another dragonfly card!!

And yes, I'm hanging my head in shame - I'm a pathetic blogger. I bet I've lost the interest of the 3 people that ever even looked at this blog!! Bobber-Wobbers is completely disgusted with my lack of blogging on OUR blog - he's giving me the cold shoulder big time. And as he's not the best typist, he relies on me to get the posting part of the job done. Well, can't cry over lost blogging time, so we'll just forge ahead in the great big wild..........

Come on back - there will be some brand-spanking new card posts in the next few days!!

Mod Vase

CB - Memory Box; Stamps...Vase & greenery - CTMH, "thank you" - Papertrey Ink, oval - A Muse; Inks - Memento, CTMH & Colorbox; Paper flowers & leaves - CTMH; Gemstones - Hero Arts; punches - Stampin' Up.

Sometimes I surprise myself - like with this card...I kind of had a picture of it in my head when I was looking at the stamps, but after it was done - WOW, it surpassed my vision....and in a good way too!! My daughter Creepella even likes this card (which generally speaking she likes most of my cards, but in a very, "Oh yeah mom, that's nice - cute card, ah-ha....can I go back to what I was doing??" way). Now I'm pretty excited to use more of the stamps from this CTMH set.......off to stamp!

Geeta's Card

Stamps, Cardstock/cardbase (pretty much everything) - A Muse; Copics, Spicas, misc. eyelet.

I made this card for one of the 4 A Muse Addicts Moderators (the Fab 4)....I don't "know" her aside from her many posts and a peek at her blog every once in a while - but man, do I appreciate what they ALL do. I can only imagine how much time and effort it takes to maintain the A Muse Addicts area (see, I'm such a computer dork I don't even know what to call it). Anyhow these women (who already seem to have mighty FULL lives) take care of us A Muse Addicts and when a call goes out to MAKE A CARD.....I'm absolutely delighted to join in the fun. I hope Geeta had a wonderful birthday!!

Dragon Daze Revisited

Remember when all I had to show was a few stamped images and a lovely grouping of Copics??

Well Ta-Dahhhhhhh........
Stamps - Stampin' Up; Inky Antics; Stamp In The Hand; Inks - Memento & Versafine; Copics & Spicas & White Gel Uniball; Washi Paper
Whew - well FINALLY this poor dragon has a home.....in a nice cozy cave....because she's feeling puny and just needs to rest.....and smell the wind blowing through the pine trees (remember when Hagrid was talking about how much Buckbeak liked that?? I totally "saw" that in my head...). Before you know it, she'll be defending her Golden Egg from all of those Triwizard Champion Pests...........hey - maybe THAT'S why it's taken me so stinkin' long to finish this card - maybe I was just waiting for the perfect Harry Potter image for some inspiration???

Arigato

CB-Memory Box; Stamps - A Muse; Inks - Memento & Versafine; Copics & Spicas; Washi Paper
Love this clear set from A Muse...to get the "Asian feel" simplicity is the best (and really fast too!!). Love the washi paper - I think it adds a nice understated accent. Sayonara!!

Back To School

Red CB - Memory Box; CS - A Muse; Stamps - mostly A Muse, also Just Johanna, Memory Box, CTMH; Copics, Spicas.

Well shoot, these were the cards I sent into Keiki Cards this month - I guess they were also the last cards that I made for for them and I didn't even know it. As of July 23rd, they are no longer accepting cards. I'm not really sure what EXACTLY happened (perhaps a combination of lack of funding, personal and volunteer issues), but I'm really bummed...I've been making cards for them since the transition from Cards for Kids to Keiki's (hmm - perhaps 6 or 7 years ago??). Over the years, they've done such a wonderful thing and I've been proud to be a small part of the organization. Some of my stamping buddies, Heidi, Sharon and Marilynn have gotten our cards together each month to send into Keiki's - so I suppose now we'll need to be on the hunt for a new organization. Actually, since I need to practice delegating tasks.....I've delegated this task of finding a new organization to Sharon - I'm sure she's burning up the internet in her research. I can hardly wait to see what she's found.

As a happy surprise, the new monthly theme thing (I know, I know - clear as mud) over at A Muse Addicts is "Back To School" - glad I'm finally able to participate in these things....what fun!!

Flying Fluffles

Cardbase - Memory Box; Stamps - Hero Arts & Stampendous; Inks - Memento & Colobox; Copics; Stardream CS; Ribbon - A Muse.

Besides the Kliban Cat Stamps...I think I love Stampendous' Fluffles the Cat stamps almost as much. I know it'll sound like a broken record - but I seem to have a ton of them (eh, BOTH Kliban cats AND Fluffles). But I ask you - how the heck do you CHOOSE one image over another when BOTH of them (or all 18 of them) will be PURRRRFECT for a card (sorry - I tried to resist, but I'm weak...)??? Isn't there enough tension and stress in our lives? Must we heap more onto ourselves by getting into a dither because we can't choose the RIGHT stamp? And how will the other stamp feel if left on the shelf - will Stamp Therapy take on a whole new meaning? Isn't it our responsibility and duty to give these lost and wayward stamps a good and loving home?? A nurturing environment where their creativity will flourish and blossom (especially when paired with all those cool flourish and floral stamps??).

Whew - I feel better...besides, stamps are like cats - you can't have JUST one - that's just plain silly!!
